The team

Clair Strong, a Bath native, has long been inspired by the city’s beauty and architecture. After studying Business Studies, she built a successful and varied career in arts administration, exhibitions, branding, and advertising, alongside a lifelong passion for creating beautiful spaces. She later completed specialist interior design courses and founded her studio in 2006 following a number of private commissions.

Clair is involved at every stage of a project, taking the time to understand her clients so the finished interiors truly suit their lifestyle and personality. Communication and a personal approach are central to her work.

Based in her Walcot studio and working remotely, her friendly, professional team provides administration, design and technical expertise, as well as press, PR, social media, and website support.

With 20 years of experience, our mission is to make working with Clair Strong as enjoyable, rewarding, and collaborative as possible for both client and team.

We take great care to understand how our clients live and what they love, often incorporating existing furniture, artwork and treasured pieces into the design. These elements bring depth, character and meaning, ensuring every home feels personal and layered rather than overly styled.

Natural materials form the foundation of our interiors. Stone, timber, linen and wool introduce warmth, texture and a sense of longevity, chosen not only for their beauty but for how they evolve and soften over time.

Within this framework, we build interest through a carefully considered use of fabrics, finishes and colour. Palettes are often inspired by the home’s original features, creating harmony and flow, while tactile textiles add comfort and quiet luxury.

Above all, our philosophy is about designing homes that feel both classic and deeply liveable — interiors that honour the past, embrace the present and evolve naturally with their owners standing the test of time both aesthetically and functionally.
